Community Engagement

Throughout my Environmental Policy class I worked with a team to write a policy proposal in efforts to incentivize and support non-traditional forms of electric vehicle transport such as electric scooters and bikes in order to help reduce community vehicle miles traveled in the Carlisle Borough.

Exploring Inclusive Practices

For my cumulative project in Environmental Leadership and Organizing for Sustainable Social Change I sought to help diversify the environmental studies curriculum at Dickinson, a predominantly white college. I asked Environmental Professors of color across the county to recommend reading materials that they believe all Environmental Studies students should read by the time they graduate.

Community Development

As a Baird Honors candidate, I have helped develop a report about Carlisle parks and greenspaces. This report includes infographics to illustrate the responses from a parks and recreation survey, an evaluation of sustainable and low maintenance approaches for managing greenspaces, and an assessment of land ordinances.

Sustainable Research

Over the Summer of 2021 I took a Geographic Information System (GIS) course. For my final project I researched whether counties in the United States with a high mean income would have more platinum LEED certified buildings than counties with a lower mean income. I used GIS to visually show my findings. By using GIS I discovered that countries in the United States with a high mean income do have more Platinum LEED certified buildings than counties with a lower mean income.
